About Me
Howdy! Thanks for checking out my website. My name is Philip Elliott. I’m a recent graduate from the University of Cincinnati, where I majored in Film and TV Production, with a minor in Directing.
From the time I was a kid, I was fascinated by how things work. I studied how things moved or were built – from Hot Wheels cars to marble tracks to Legos. Math and science came naturally to me, so everyone (including me) thought I would become an Engineer. That’s why I picked UC. I was going to be a Mechanical Engineer.
After two years of college, a pandemic, and an eye-opening co-op, I thought back to my past and decided I wanted to “take a risk” and do something I love. I knew being happy was going to be more important to me than taking the easy path. I thought about the things I liked and remembered how much fun making videos with my friends in high school was and that was the turning point for me.
As soon as I took my first film class, I knew I had made the right decision. Nothing was more fun than working on set – I loved the chaos and the stress. I soon realized I could still use my engineering mindset and be creative with new techniques. An example is performance capture using Virtual Reality rigs. By myself, I was able to act and record in two separate realities. Though what I accomplished was simplistic, I look forward to working in the industry, being creative, and pushing the boundaries.
Now please enjoy my videos and stay awhile. Thank you!
